What is 2 Factor Authentication (2FA)

2 Factor security relies on different information from something that you know (your password), and something that you have (the 2FA Token). Even if a hacker guesses your password, they still will not be able to access your account without the other bit of information.

2FA Security locks

To log in to an account using 2FA relies firstly on logging in by the normal means of a user ID and a password.  You then have to generate a one time password or OTP, which generates a number which is only valid for about 30 seconds. Each time you use the token, it will generate a different number.
